During a big production and songwriting shift, Dan came up with the first band-styled project, the single "Confidential." After only releasing one single in previous years, Dan has worked really hard to stay on schedule with the end of September, in order to target a second single later on in 2017. When asked about the new sound, Dan said that "it was about time to get back to a realer feel of music, to have the words and melodies be deeper and express pain that can be uplifting." It had been talked that Dan wrote the song in a 30 minute lunch break session on a Friday; when asked about it, he smiled and said: "Well, sometimes you have a flow and the first draft ends up being the final draft. Inspiration cannot be ordered like Chinese take-out, so I had to take my chance and it worked."

A GTA-styled countdown led to the first New York based release, and Dan's outstanding photographer Marco Deuchert is once more responsible for the artwork.
